DNIs change how you and others around you participate in roleplay. You may enact a DNI at any time; however, they are not to be abused and should be treated as a last resort. TallTalesRP Moderation will always encourage players to communicate problems and mishaps with each other before enacting a DNI.
If a DNI is broken, please report the DNI break to Moderation through a player report ticket alongside the evidence.
Abusing the DNI system will result in a punishment.
- A DNI can be placed by contacting moderation through creating DNI Placement ticket which is located under Reports Tickets.
- DNI’s can no longer be done through DM’s, otherwise they will be considered invalid.
- To remove a DNI, create a DNI Placement ticket. so that Moderation may provide a protected space for both parties to speak about revoking the DNI.
- DNIs may not be enforced to avoid in character repercussions or actions.
- DNIs can be enforced due to in character interaction that makes players uncomfortable and goes against our guidelines.
- Moderation urges that you create a ticket if anything goes against our guidelines.
- Both players are allowed to talk to a group together, so long as they do not directly speak to each other.
- The responsibility falls on both players to notify the group of the active DNI to ensure no confusion arises. Afterward, the conversation may resume as normal.
- Alternatively, the responsibility to remove yourself from the situation falls on yourself; no one is forced to leave.
- Should a player ask you to interact with a player who has a DNI on them, you are not allowed to act as a middleman for them.
- Should one party with a DNI on them wish to safely communicate with the other, they may make a general support ticket, wherein Moderation will act as the middleman, only with both players' direct consent.
- You may not place a DNI on an entire faction or group of players.
- You may place a DNI on each person individually.
Please note that outside of DNI’s moderation has rules regarding harassment, if a player is engaging in any form of harassment, regardless of a DNI being in place or not, with sufficient evidence moderation will handle the situation.
When opening a ticket, you will be asked to provide the following information
- Your IGN and Discord
- The IGN and Discord of the player/s you wish to place a DNI on
- The reasoning for the placement of the DNI. [The provided reasoning may be supplied to the other player when the DNI is being placed.]
- Any evidence supporting the reasoning
For Moderation to ensure that the DNI is being used as a last resort, you may be asked if you have taken preventative measures, such as
- Blocking the player on discord
- Requesting they cease whatever activities/s is the reason for the placement of the DNI (Any screenshots you can provide of this is welcomed)
It may be offered to you by moderation to create a moderated space for yourself and the player to discuss matters in a safe environment, to foster communication in the hopes to resolve the issue.
If the player placing the DNI is not open to attempting preventative measures this will be noted.
In instances where a player is uncomfortable to elaborate on reasoning, where matters are serious or personal, this can be explained as their reasoning. If a player wishes to keep the reasoning between themselves and administration/moderation heads, they may request the ticket be handled privately by these members of staff.
These exceptions are only allowed for the mentioned staff team to continue their work under these specific conditions.
- When in-game, Moderation may break a DNI placed on them if no other Moderator is available to perform their duty.
- This only applies to situations where Moderation is needed urgently.
- When in-game, Lore may break a DNI placed on them if no other Lore Team member is available to perform their duty.
- The Lore Team member and player must be watched by Moderation during the interaction for safety and security.
