Using Third-Party Clients
- Third-party clients can be used, this includes: Lunar Client, Badlion Client, LabyMod, Feather Client and other third-party clients.
- Any third-party client that includes its own cosmetics can be used. We do not moderate the usage of third-party clients and their cosmetics.
- If you see someone wearing a cosmetic that does not follow the server theme, please do not report them - simply stop using the client or hide the cosmetics when possible.
- We do not moderate the usage of private messaging via third-party clients.
- If you receive an unwanted private message from another player using the same third-party client, please do not report them - simply stop using the client or block the player.
- Please do not recommend or share third-party clients in any TallTalesRP affiliated chats, including screenshots of cosmetics from third-party clients. These cosmetics, while allowed in-game due to being personal use, can still break server guidelines when shared and will be moderated in text chats. Images may be deleted if deemed necessary by moderation.
- It is important to note that we do not recommend using cosmetics within third-party clients. If you wish to customize your character, we recommend purchasing TallTalesRP cosmetics, or purchasing a TallTalesRP custom cosmetic which allows you to work with our artists to make your own cosmetic and goes directly toward supporting the server.
- Stay in character
- When not using the OOC tag, do not intentionally avoid RP, this is considered FailRP.
- Players must do their best to never ignore, disregard, or intentionally avoid the roleplay of others. Always engage in the roleplay that is taking place around you.
- When you are out of character, use the provided OOC tag (toggled with /ooctag)
- Always have a realistic “Value of Life” (Fear Roleplay)
- You must value your life and the lives of other characters at all times, despite gameplay mechanics that allow players to respawn. Characters should always behave realistically, and appropriately to the situation, especially those that may lead to injury or death. Never act in a way that indicates no value for your character’s life and survival.
- Character design is not a valid reason for habitual violence
- Characters must have sufficient reason to be violent- through backstory or reason to propel a narrative forward. A character may not be disruptively, perpetually, and nonsensically violent. Players may not use their character's violent tendencies to avoid other guidelines e.g. Needing permission to attack another player
- Players can not be forced into Roleplay, and can deny interactions if OOC. Look at the OOC Tag next to players names, to understand if they are in character or not.
- If a player does not have the OOC tag they are subject to roleplay at any time.
- Permanent kills & combat initiation
- Permadeath or “permanent death” (sometimes referred to as PK) refers to a player's character permanently losing their life in roleplay, unable to be revived again. All characters are mortal and, occasionally, permadeath is the best option for stories where a return would seem impossible, illogical, or ruin the flow of the surrounding storylines.
- Player kills and combat should be done with the out of character (OOC) consent of all parties involved first,
- If a character is permanently killed they should be removed from the character slots to avoid IC-OOC confusion.
- Their skin may be used in private settings for OOC purposes
- Do not attack players without sufficient narrative or player interaction - all parties must have narrative reasons to initiate combat.
- Postmortem resurrection of a character is impossible except for specific cases at the discretion of admins.
- Faction leaders, antagonistic, infamous and politically significant characters can be killed without player consent if there is a sufficient in-character reason and it is approved by an Admin.
- Factions may execute with Admin permission and sufficient IC reasoning.
- All PK’s enacted by players must be consented to, and consent must be screenshotted. (Unless on a pre-established PK clause)
- Safe Zones
- Acts of violence are not permitted within Primshire. The city is protected by powerful warding magic, prohibiting any harmful act done to a creature in the area (e.g. murder, kidnappings, muggings, etc.) even with OOC approval from the victim. (The exception to this rule is official arrests)
- No Metagaming
- Metagaming and the use of metainformation will not be tolerated. Metagaming is the use of knowledge that the player is aware of but that the character has not yet learned. You cannot know or act on any information that your character hasn’t learned through roleplay. (E.G.: sharing coordinates in chat, OOC trading, using information you heard while OOC watching RP.)
- This further applies to TTRP-associated discords.
- Sharing screenshots/information in both IC and OOC channels on the TallTalesRP Discord is NOT allowed without the consent of all included parties.
- Private RP should not be posted about in the TallTalesRP Discord in both IC and OOC channels.
- No Powergaming
- Powergaming in all forms is prohibited. Powergaming is the act of using a game mechanic, external information, or a roleplay concept to favor a specific character or story and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage using game mechanics.
- This includes all ‘homeworld’ magic - no character is allowed magic that is not lore-approved.
- Powergaming in all forms is prohibited. Powergaming is the act of using a game mechanic, external information, or a roleplay concept to favor a specific character or story and give them an unfair or unrealistic advantage using game mechanics.
- Honor Character Life Rules
- If your character dies, pretend that you have blacked out. Your character does not remember the context of their death, nor any directly related events leading up to their death.
- If there is any dispute about how much a character remembers please make a general lore ticket.
- When a player dies in character they forget all events leading directly to their death, including when, where, why, or how they died. Items lost through IC PVP are forfeit, This does not count for accidental [falling, dying to mobs, drowning, etc.] and OOC death.
- Items lost through player error and accidental death are not eligible to be replaced unless they are lore-approved, or lore-significant items.
- Items lost due to server crash/glitch will be fully replaced.
- Items lost through player error and accidental death are not eligible to be replaced unless they are lore-approved, or lore-significant items.
- Honoring your character's life does not mean they have to be afraid of death. Though they can not act as if they have multiple lives. (Multiple characters)
- If your character dies, pretend that you have blacked out. Your character does not remember the context of their death, nor any directly related events leading up to their death.
- Avoid Roleplay Blurring
- There must be a clear separation between ‘in character’ (IC) and ‘out of character’ (OOC) behavior and knowledge. If your personal feelings begin to bleed into the roleplay, it is advised that you take a break from the server. If you continue to act based on OOC feelings, beliefs, disagreements or other information in character, especially in a toxic manner, we will be forced to remove you from the server.
- Remember, your character is not you and anything that happens to your character is not a direct attack on your outside reality.
- EXCEPTION: You may be removed from a faction or DNI’d by someone if deemed necessary, even for out-of-character reasons
- Lore & Continuity
- Players are required to follow any lore and continuity outlined for the server, despite character storyline, history or desire.
- Any extraordinary features beyond simple fantasy racial traits are not permitted to remain with your character once they arrive in this world. Magic can only be accomplished through the server’s outlined, lore-approved, methods.

- Sexual or Erotic Roleplay (abbreviated ERP) is defined as any roleplay that focuses on sexual nudity, erotic actions or depicts sexual activity. This content is not permitted while on TTRP servers or in public community spaces. If your roleplay leads in that direction, take it to external DMs.

- Faction Rules
- DESCRIPTION: Factions are groups of 10 or more players able to claim land for themselves.
- They will be advertised both in-game (on billboards/posters) and on the discord (#nation-board), and have their own discords as well.
- Faction discords must employ a “Staff” role with administration permissions. This role must be given to the TallTalesRP Admin discord account.
- All factions pay an "upkeep" cost based on their total members. Failure to pay the upkeep cost will result in the loss of their claim [With prior warning from the Moderation team]
- They will be advertised both in-game (on billboards/posters) and on the discord (#nation-board), and have their own discords as well.
- LAND CLAIM: If a faction does not sufficiently develop on the land they claim, then they lose the rights to that land. This is to prevent faction territories from growing larger than they can manage and the taking up of excess space.
- MULTI-CITIZENSHIP: Characters can officially be citizens of multiple factions, but factions may choose whether to allow this or not themselves. Be sure to check your faction's policy on multi-citizenship.
- You may not join the same faction as two different characters.
- A faction leader may join another faction as a member, however must be free to represent their own faction on the Council of Eldorath.
- MODERATION: Factions are subject to dismantling if Admins deem it necessary to break up a group at their discretion (typically for repeated, organized guideline violations)
- BUILDINGS: Buildings built for a faction are the faction’s property, and cannot be removed without the faction leader’s consent. This includes but is not limited to courthouses, city halls, churches, public farms, etc
- Players leaving a faction may remove their homes if they wish to. If after a week players fail to remove their items after sufficient prior warning, they become the property of the faction.
- When advertising factions this is to be done In Character, Though not to the point players feel peer pressured to join. Examples of what can make people feel peer pressured: Raised Volume, Overly persistent.
- DESCRIPTION: Factions are groups of 10 or more players able to claim land for themselves.

- You can not avoid this scenario, though this interaction must be done using roleplay.
- Bandits can not rob you in Primshire due to powerful warding magic which prevents creatures from harm within its boundary. You also cannot be robbed in the resource world because that is an out-of-character space.

IMPORTANT NOTE FOR CHARACTER BACKSTORIES:
All characters arrive in the world of Eldorath through mysterious and unknown ways. They come from distinct universes, each with its unique lore all rooted in *medieval fantasy*. You will wake up on a ship with memories of your past but you cannot recall how you ended up here. Any supernatural capabilities beyond the average humanoid/Minecraft player (e.g. flight, fire-breathing, etc.) are nullified by magical means.
- Character Limits
- Through /character, players are allowed to play up to two characters for free. Do not abuse the character edit feature to play as more characters.

Since they originate from a different world, there are no limits to what kind of creature as long as you are close to human-sized and human-shaped (yes to mermaids, Dragonborn, tieflings, dwarves, 6-foot-tall ents/ants; no to giants, 2-inch tall bugs, or a literal ancient dragon)
- Shapeshifters for example changelings are allowed, however they cannot use their shifting abilities to their advantage in rp scenarios. (Meaning that everyone will still know it's you, even if you shifted into a different look)

- Your character’s skin must fit our server’s theme of medieval fantasy. To help you understand what we mean by this, here are some examples of what is and isn’t allowed:
All of these rules apply to TTRP’s CRP and Honor CRP as well as any existing CRP system.
The exception to this statement is if a rule is strictly about mechanics involving rolling (Rolling dice) which is not needed for Honor CRP. (Rolling is still involved in TTRP’s standard CRP system)
- You shouldn't attempt to take another player's life using Minecraft's in-game PvP without sufficient player interaction
