Nestled deep within the volcano, in a natural pocket yet to be unveiled. It’s a small grotto.
Innocent at first, yet the second one’s body crosses the line to enter, the entire atmosphere around them shifts. It’s hotter than the outside world, humidity hugs at their skin, and a strange feeling tugs at the back of one’s mind. It’s like their entire body feels light, and their skin feels as though it shifts like light waves.
And within this grotto contains a small body of aerated, boiling water. Pillars made from hardened salt and granite support the top of the cave, while thickened puddles of water mask the ground. Water droplets from the pure condensation drip-drop off sharpened rocks- yet, a larger body of water hugs the wall of the cave. There is no defined source, save for the neverending deepness of the body of water.
One could even ponder if the water reaches the core of the world, or-... perhaps it leads to something yet to be discovered. No life beams from the pool. No thriving plants, no sea life swimming about. There’s not even a glimmer of a mosquito or gnat hitting the surface. Not even a speck of moss bezels the rocks, despite the sheer humidity that plagues the grotto.
Through the strange oddities that cause worry, the body of water catches their eyes; its beauty within a hollow, melancholic grotto captivates their very being. An urge to approach overwhelms them, and with a burst of courage, they peer over the edge.
With every lore piece comes a set of redlines you must follow within roleplay. These redlines are non-disputable, and breaking them may restrict both your access and ongoing interactions with Omin’s Mirror. These redlines ensure that the piece of lore is followed through and through by everyone who enters the grotto.
- Omin’s Mirror is something that cannot be meddled with. This means that no experiments can be made in regards to the pool, nor may one bottle up the pool's water; Omin’s Mirror is a pool meant for roleplay narrative only.
- One will never escape seeing the worst of themselves in Omin’s Mirror. It’s inevitable.
- You must roleplay out feeling a distinct eeriness upon entering Omin’s Mirror.
- Should one choose to touch the surface of the water, severe, second-degree burns will form almost instantaneously. The water is scalding hot—-no one may treat the water as a sauna or bath.
- Basic clothing—e.g., shoes, thick linens, gloves—may protect you from the puddles.
- If one emerges themself in the water, death is imminent within a minute of being in the water.
