Observation Report

Log 1, 1443. ~ It appears that the tremors have worsened, perhaps a forewarning of sorts.

The lava has been spitting from a variety of areas nearby, with more and more cracks formulating as the terrain seems to shift. It is slow and incredibly strenuous on the outpost, and I am not sure how much longer the supports can handle this.

Those deployed at the outpost have reported more and more shakes and rattles while I am off and away, and the rising concern of another eruption happening soon plagues our minds greatly. While we are stable at the moment, we have begun scouting areas around the volcano where we may set up another camp if need be.

All of our data and documentation has been moved elsewhere for the time being.

Log 2, 1443. ~ The Lavalotl’s are an interesting case.

We have observed more of these creatures emerging from the volcano’s depths recently, most likely due to the increased amount of tremors we have experienced. Yet, these small creatures seem to be traveling out on land, past the camp.

It is strange to say the least, some of them even seem exhausted when outside their home for too long.

Log 3, 1443. ~ I received a report the other day from one of my fellow comrades. There’s an alleged area nearby the base of the volcano’s lava where a continuous dripping sound can be heard. There is light steam that emits from the area, and the inside sounds hollow, almost.

We do not wish to meddle with this, however it is a place of interest.

Log 4, 1433. ~ The tremors were in fact a forewarning. The outpost is now in ruins, but we were able to get everyone out safely. The lava has risen much worse than it has before, and an odd crater has now formed in the middle of the pool.

Efforts to carve into the cave have been finished due to the efforts of our minemen and earth magi, and we now have a safe viewing patio for everyone to stand atop of.

The aforementioned hollowness we were observing prior seems to have unveiled a grotto, yet we haven’t had the time to look into it yet. Much rebuilding is to be done, and we need a safe space to reinsert all of our data and documents.

The time for a possible full-scale eruption only nears, and I cannot help but wonder the damage that is to be done.
