Letter 1

To Chief Ivar,

I’m aware that we spoke yesterday, but I wanted to confirm our new trade agreement in writing. My memory comes to displease me some days.

Moreover, my heart was touched by your wise words during our brief meeting. I am truly grateful to you and your tribe. You are always a welcome visit.

Sincerely,

X King Ji

Letter 2

To Chief Ivar,

I thank you deeply for your pleasantries. You are a man in which I can only dream of becoming, so very unlike my father.

I am content to hear about your wife. May your children have a blessed future.

I must hear where you tailor your garments from. I noticed that the stitching was done meticulously, and the color does suit your complexion.

Sincerely,

X King Ji

Letter 3

To Chief Ivar,

And to the Fiskari of Njordheim,

It is with great displeasure that I inform you of the recent events that have happened within Lhiri. Due to the recent war against our former alliance, Koumi, our leadership has crumbled. Our citizens riot the streets, and our walls have fallen from within. I fear Lhiri may be turning back to its anarchic roots.

I tell you this because of our longstanding trade agreements that we have forsaken due to this trouble. I apologize on behalf of our fallen kingdom. I hope this does not affect our nation’s relationships.

Live long and prosper.

Sincerely,

X King Ji

Letter 4

To Chief Ivar

It has been a week and I have not heard from you. It’s made me glum, for I’m always delighted to receive your letters. I hope that my last missive did not dishearten you to the point of sorrow, and I apologize if my absence was angering.

I urge you to write back, for I am the one truly full of sorrow.

Sincerely,

X King Ji

Letter 5

Chief Ivar,

Due to my concern, I dispatched a scout to gather information from your tribe. I was reluctant to, as I was afraid your trust in me would dwindle. However, I am very glad that I did.

He relayed to me that you and your tribe had disappeared. He noted that you departed with hardly food nor clothes, and every home left a mess-- which raises great concern. Do not tell me that you have vanished off the face of Eldorath. For what of the future for your wife and children?

When this letter does find you, contact me immediately. I will remain here, awaiting your return.

Yours,

X King Ji
